Book Your Free NHS Health Check

Taking Care of Your Health Starts Here

The NHS Health Check is a free service designed to help adults aged 40 to 74 identify early signs of health conditions and take positive steps towards a healthier future. Even if you feel well, many conditions can develop without symptoms, making regular preventative health checks an important part of staying healthy.

During your appointment, a healthcare professional will assess your overall health and risk of developing conditions such as:

  • Heart disease
  • Stroke
  • Type 2 diabetes
  • Kidney disease
  • Dementia (where appropriate)

The check usually takes around 20 to 30 minutes and may include:

  • Blood pressure measurement
  • Height and weight checks
  • Cholesterol testing
  • Questions about your lifestyle, family history, and general health

Following your assessment, you will receive personalised advice and support to help you maintain or improve your health. This may include guidance on healthy eating, increasing physical activity, stopping smoking, managing your weight, or accessing additional support services available locally.
